Vanstella was built at the Swanson Brothers works at Wyong in 1977 and has a slightly modified rig in that the mast is approximately 90 cm higher than the standard rig and it has a short stainless steel bowsprit, thereby increasing the size of the fore triangle. Additional ballast was added to offset the higher mast. The vessel has a roller reefing head sail and a full battened mainsail with lazy jacks and boom bag.
The vessel is fitted with an11 year old 25 hp BETA engine and wheel steering. Below deck it is roomy with a separate main cabin and fore cabin. The vessel can sleep 6. The present owner purchased the boat in 1982.

Fresh water tank: flexible tank located under cabin sole.
Galley: 2 burner metho stove and ice box
Life buoys: 2 fibre glass.
